Welcome to Montana Lee Quilted Vintage Coats
Where love, legacy, and hand-stitched memories come together.

We’re two sisters Kelly (on the left) and Emily (on the right) carrying forward the dream our mother began — creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind quilted coats that wrap you in warmth, history, and love.

Our mother was the heart and hands behind this vision. She dreamed of turning cherished quilts into wearable art — pieces that tell a story, hold a memory, and bring comfort. Just as she began bringing that dream to life, she fell ill and passed away before she could see it through.

Now, every stitch we sew is part of her legacy. She taught us everything we know about sewing — from baby blessing clothes to tiny doll dresses she made by hand in the backseat of the car. Every project she touched carried her kindness, creativity, and patience.

This business is our way of keeping her spirit alive. As we cut, piece, and stitch, we feel her right beside us — guiding our hands, steadying our hearts, and reminding us that beauty can grow even in grief.

Many of the quilts we transform into coats were stitched decades ago — some as far back as the 1800s — handcrafted by women whose names we may never know. We like to think of them as women lifting each other up across generations — mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends passing down warmth, creativity, and resilience through their hands.

These quilts carry stories of comfort, community, and care, and somehow they seem to find the women they’re meant for. It’s a beautiful thing to watch a coat “speak” to someone — as if it recognizes her spirit and whispers, “I was made for you.”
